The Scalytics Team

AI That Runs Where Your Data Lives.

Scalytics: The foundation for secure, scalable, and transparent AI.

Scalytics was founded by two PhDs and two former Cloudera big data engineers who repeatedly saw the same pattern in enterprise systems: data is distributed, regulated, and operationally complex, yet most architectures still try to centralize it.

Centralization increases cost, latency, compliance risk, and operational fragility. It also breaks under real production load.

Our team originally created Apache Wayang, now an Apache Top-Level Project. Wayang enables federated execution across engines such as Spark and Flink, allowing workloads to run where data already resides. This eliminates unnecessary ETL, reduces vendor lock-in, and preserves governance boundaries.

We design and troubleshoot mission-critical streaming platforms, federated data infrastructure, and AI systems for scaling SMEs. This includes SAP IDoc to event transformation, Kafka-based architectures, lakehouse reliability, and private AI deployments that operate inside regulated environments.

Our engineering team invented and actively maintain KafScale, a open-source Kafka-compatible, stateless streaming platform designed for Kubernetes and object storage backends. It allows elastic scaling without broker-heavy infrastructure and avoids long-term operational lock-in.

Scalytics focuses on production systems that must stay online, stay compliant, and survive peak load. We bring compute to the data and design architectures that run under pressure.

Our mission is simple, but effective: Data stays in place. Compute comes to you.
"AI and machine learning are here to stay. They're evolving, and one can be against it if they want, but it's going to happen. Operating and building AI is tough, fragmented data landscape, data silos, the decades old paradigma that centralized data make things easier. It's just wrong.
Just like it was in the early days of big data, and we're seeing the same thing again. There's again a push to centralize data in databases, data marts, data lakes, and so on. And we're seeing the promise of AI, but as a developer, it's really hard to build anything good. That's what we change."
